Treecat Q&A: Getting Started, Free Tools, and the Upcoming AI Autofill Feature
Treecat’s latest office-hours style Q&A covered some of the most common questions from new and existing resellers. From why online selling offers so much flexibility to how Treecat helps automate cross-listing and sales detection, the big theme was simple: save time, stay organized, and keep your business flexible.
1. Why Online Selling Works for So Many Resellers
One of the first questions discussed was what makes being an online seller so rewarding. The answer was flexibility.
Resellers often need a business model that adapts to real life. That may mean scaling up during busy seasons or financial needs, and scaling down when life gets complicated. Online selling can be especially valuable for:
- Parents managing childcare
- People caring for aging family members
- Sellers recovering from natural disasters
- Those facing disability or age-related job barriers
- Anyone looking for side income or more control over their schedule
Treecat is built to support that kind of business flexibility.
2. What’s Coming Soon: AI Autofill and Bulk Cross-Listing
A major upcoming feature is AI autofill, which is designed to make cross-listing much faster. In the demo preview, Treecat explained that the tool will eventually autofill:
- Category and subcategory fields
- Item condition
- Product name
- Description
- Price
- Photos and other listing details
The biggest benefit is speed. Combined with Treecat’s Fast List view, users will be able to select listings in bulk, autofill them, review details, and launch listings much faster than before.
This is especially useful for sellers who manage large inventories and want to move hundreds or even thousands of items efficiently.
3. How to Get Started with Treecat
For new users asking how to begin, Treecat recommends starting with the Getting Started Guide. After signing up on the website, users receive onboarding instructions and can also find help in the documentation area.
Treecat uses an installed agent rather than a Chrome extension. This approach was designed for stability and scalability, especially for sellers who need 24/7 automation and cross-platform support.
Once the agent is installed:
- Treecat imports your existing listings
- You match items across marketplaces
- Treecat monitors sales automatically
- When an item sells, the others are taken down to prevent overselling
Helpful resources include:
- Documentation and support in the top-right question mark menu
- Feature videos on the homepage
- Cross-listing walkthroughs
- Search and inventory management guides
4. What Not to Do: Selling Similar Outside Treecat
A key warning in the Q&A was about using End and Sell Similar directly on eBay outside of Treecat.
Why avoid it? Because doing this outside the platform can break your item matches. If your listings are matched in Treecat across eBay, Poshmark, and Mercari, and you perform relisting directly on eBay, Treecat may no longer recognize those as matched items.
Instead, use Treecat’s built-in D List / Relist tools. These let you relist items while preserving your matches, keeping sales detection and automatic delisting working properly.
Treecat also allows scheduling these relists, whether you want to do them once or on a repeating basis such as weekly, monthly, or quarterly.
5. Free Tools Treecat Users Can Use
A big part of the discussion focused on the many features Treecat includes beyond basic cross-listing. Some of these are part of the cross-listing workflow, while others are free tools that help sellers stay efficient.
Examples include:
- Free and unlimited D List / Relist tools for cross-listing users
- Closet sharing for Poshmark
- Guest accounts
- Fast Match for connecting existing listings
- Packing slips for shipping organization
- CSV imports and exports
- Sales analytics
- Inventory search tools
- Support for multiple-quantity listings
- Automatic backups of your listings
Treecat emphasized that its pricing model is based on items sold, not a monthly subscription, giving sellers more flexibility to scale business activity up or down as needed.
6. Getting Help and Staying in the Loop
If users get stuck, Treecat offers several support options:
- In-app support through the question mark menu
- Documentation and troubleshooting guides
- A Reddit community
- FAQ resources on the homepage
- Personal training sessions for users who need extra help
The company also encouraged users to join the AI autofill waitlist if they want early access to the upcoming feature. A demo is planned soon, and Treecat said it’s especially excited to show how much time the new workflow will save.
If you’re a reseller looking for a more flexible, scalable way to manage inventory across marketplaces, Treecat’s tools are designed to help you work faster and keep everything connected.
