Treecat Troubleshooting Guide: Common Issues and New Usability Updates

Treecat is built to make cross-listing and reselling easier across platforms like eBay, Poshmark, and Mercari. But like any connected system, there are a few common issues users may run into. In this post, we’ll cover the most important troubleshooting steps, explain how inventory matching works, and highlight a few new usability improvements.

1. What to Do If the Treecat Agent Goes Down

One of the most common issues is a disconnected or inactive agent. If Treecat loses communication with the agent, you may receive a mobile notification saying the agent is offline.

Here’s what to check first:

  • Go to Settings > Agent Configuration
  • Confirm that the agent is active
  • Use the test option to verify the local agent is working
  • Make sure your computer has power and is running properly
  • Reboot your computer if needed
  • If the version is outdated, download the correct agent version from the configuration page

If your computer lost power or restarted unexpectedly, Treecat can usually pick back up once the agent is online again.

2. Make Sure You’re Logged In to All Platforms

Another common issue is getting logged out of a selling platform like Mercari or Poshmark. If that happens, Treecat may not be able to take down sold listings correctly.

To check your login status:

  • Go to Settings > Platforms
  • Confirm you are logged in to each marketplace
  • If you see a Log out button, that means you’re currently logged in

If a platform logs you out, you can use the Treecat Authenticator browser extension to sign back in quickly. This is especially helpful for platforms that periodically log users out every few months.

3. Why Matching Listings Matters

If you imported listings from another service or cross-listed them manually, Treecat may see them as separate items until they are matched. Matching is essential because it allows Treecat to:

  • Detect sales across platforms
  • Remove duplicate listings automatically
  • Keep inventory synchronized

If your listings are not matched, Treecat won’t know they belong together.

How to Match Listings

To match listings:

  1. Go to your Inventory page
  2. Open Fast Match
  3. Click the Calculate button
  4. Review the suggested matches
  5. Accept the correct matches or reject the incorrect ones

This is much faster than the old process, where users had to compare items one by one in separate tabs.

4. New Usability Improvements in Treecat

Treecat continues to improve based on user feedback. A few recent updates make the platform easier to use and more efficient for sellers.

Better Formatting Across Listings

If your eBay listing uses separate lines for details, Treecat now preserves that formatting better when the listing is pulled into other platforms. That means your Mercari and Poshmark listings should appear more organized and readable.

Fast List View

Treecat is also rolling out a Fast List experience. Instead of opening separate tabs for each marketplace, you can now view your eBay, Poshmark, and Mercari listings in one place from the detail view.

This makes it easier to compare listings and manage them without jumping between tabs.

Multiple Hashtags at Once

You can now add multiple hashtags in one step for Mercari and Poshmark listings. Just separate tags with a comma or semicolon, then add them together.

For example:

  • racerback
  • sports bra
  • athletic wear

This saves time when preparing listings.

5. Getting Support and Sharing Feedback

If you run into problems or have suggestions, Treecat offers a few ways to get help:

  • Use the question mark icon in the top-right corner to submit a support ticket
  • Contact the team by email
  • Visit the Reddit forum for community support

Treecat also welcomes feature feedback and usability suggestions. Many of the newest improvements came from user requests.

6. Final Thoughts

Most Treecat issues come down to a few simple things: the agent going offline, a platform logging you out, or listings not being matched yet. Once you know how to check these areas, troubleshooting becomes much easier.

With new usability updates like improved formatting, Fast List view, and bulk hashtag entry, Treecat is continuing to make reselling workflow faster and smoother for sellers.
