Getting Started with Treecat: Setup, Syncing, and Auto-Delisting
Treecat is a reselling platform designed to help sellers manage cross-listed inventory across multiple marketplaces. If you’re just getting started, the key is to set up your stores correctly, complete your first sync, and use Treecat’s matching and auto-delisting tools to keep everything accurate.
1. Set Up Your Stores Before Logging In
Before using Treecat, make sure all of your stores are already connected and ready to list on. You should confirm that you can successfully create listings on each store before trying to access them through Treecat.
Treecat also requires a Google account for access, so be sure you have either a Google ID or a Gmail account ready.
2. Install the Treecat Agent
Treecat uses an agent that must be installed on your computer before you begin. Make sure you install the correct version for your operating system:
- Windows agent
- Mac agent
After installation, confirm that the agent is running properly before moving on.
3. Log Into Your Marketplaces First
Before logging into Treecat, open a separate browser tab and log into your selling accounts directly first.
- For eBay, sign in normally in your browser.
- For Mercari, log in using your email address, not your user ID.
If you use eBay policies, Treecat supports them. However, if you change your eBay policy settings later, you will need to run a full inventory sync again.
4. Run Your First Inventory Sync and Sales Fetch
To bring your listings into Treecat, you need to import them using an inventory sync. You should also import your sales using sales fetch.
A few important things to know about the first sync:
- It may take some time to complete.
- Do not let your computer go to sleep or shut down during the process.
- The first sync is the slowest one.
- Later syncs are much faster because they only import new listings.
You can also use the Sales Fetch button to do both an inventory sync and a sales fetch with one click. If no inventory sync has been run yet, Sales Fetch will automatically start one.
5. Match Duplicate Items and Enable Auto-Delist
If you sell the same item on more than one store, use Treecat’s matching feature to link those duplicate listings together.
Once all duplicate items are matched, enable the auto-delist option on the sales page. Treecat will then:
- Check for sales across all your stores 24/7
- Detect when an item sells on one marketplace
- Automatically delist the matching cross-listed items from your other stores
This helps prevent overselling and keeps your inventory consistent.
6. Learn More With Treecat’s Step-by-Step Videos
If you want additional help, Treecat provides step-by-step videos on its YouTube channel for each of the main tasks covered here, including setup, syncing, matching, and auto-delisting.
Getting started with Treecat is straightforward once your stores, agent, and accounts are ready. After that, the first sync and matching process will set you up for efficient cross-listing management.
