Poshmark selling fees
How much does Poshmark take in 2026?
Poshmark takes a flat $2.95 on US sales under $15 and 20% on sales of $15 or more. In Canada it is C$3.95 under C$20 and 20% from C$20, plus GST/HST on that fee. Listing is free, there is no separate payment processing fee, and the buyer normally pays for shipping. The fee comes off the final price after any offer you accept, so the number to plug into this Poshmark fee calculator is what the item actually sells for.

Poshmark fees in Canada
Canadian sellers follow the same shape with different numbers. Under C$20 the fee is a flat C$3.95, and from C$20 it is 20%. On top of that, Poshmark charges GST or HST on its own fee and takes it from your earnings, so the rate depends on where you live.
| Province or territory | Tax on the fee | On a C$10.00 fee |
|---|---|---|
| Ontario | 13% HST | C$1.30 |
| Nova Scotia | 14% HST | C$1.40 |
| New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, PEI | 15% HST | C$1.50 |
| Alberta, BC, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, territories | 5% GST | C$0.50 |
| Quebec | 5% GST | C$0.50 |
Is it really only 20%?
The headline rate is honest, but the money that reaches your balance is often lower than 80% of the price. The usual reasons are choices you make in the app: a shipping discount on an offer, free shipping on a listing, or a box that tips past the weight limit. On a $50 sale with free shipping you keep $33.51, so the platform and the label together take about a third. That is why the calculator shows the full share next to the headline fee, and why the most useful number on this page is the payout rather than the percentage.
The $15 rule: why $14.99 can beat $15
Because the fee jumps from a flat amount to a percentage at one exact price, there is a narrow band where raising your price lowers your payout. At $14.99 you pay $2.95 and keep $12.04. At $15.00 you pay $3.00 and keep $12.00. Every price from $15.00 to $15.04 pays you less than $14.99 does, and you need $15.05 to break even with it.
Canada has the same gap one step higher: C$19.99 keeps C$16.04 before tax on the fee, C$20.00 keeps C$16.00, and C$20.05 is where the higher price starts to win. The calculator flags these prices as you type, and the target-price mode skips over the gap automatically.
Watch for offers that land in the gap
A buyer offering $15 on your $18 listing is offering you four cents less than a $14.99 offer would. Counter with $14.99 or $16 instead.
Who pays shipping on Poshmark?
The buyer, by default. Every US order uses a prepaid $6.49 label for packages up to 5 lb, sent by USPS Ground Advantage. Older guides still quote an $8.27 Priority Mail label; it no longer applies. In Canada the default is Canada Post home delivery at C$12.49 for up to 2.5 kg, and buyers can choose Purolator Pick Up for C$6.99 if the seller has opted in. None of this money passes through your earnings, and Poshmark does not charge its fee on it.
Shipping discounts and what they cost you
You can lower the buyer's shipping to attract a sale. In the US the choices are $4.99 (you pay $1.50) or free (you pay the full $6.49). In Canada they are C$9.99 (you pay C$2.50) or free (you pay C$12.49). The discount is subtracted from your payout, not from the fee base, so it is pure cost. On a $10 item, free shipping leaves you just $0.56.
Heavy packages: label upgrades
The standard label covers 5 lb. US sellers pay +$5 for 5–10 lb and +$10 for 10–15 lb, the maximum. Canadian upgrades run from +C$1 to +C$5 in 0.5 kg steps up to 5 kg. Weigh before you list: if a box is heavier than the label you chose, the difference can be charged to you later. Using free Priority Mail boxes with a Ground Advantage label also costs a $5 penalty.
How offers, Offer to Likers and bundles change your payout
Poshmark charges its fee on the price the item actually sells for. Accept $40 on a $50 listing and the fee drops from $10 to $8, but your payout still falls by $8 overall. The offer simulator under the results shows what you would keep at 10%, 20% and 30% off with each shipping option, so you can decide on a counter-offer before you send it.
Offer to Likers
When you send an offer to everyone who liked a listing, Poshmark requires at least 10% off and a shipping discount. In the US that is $1.50 off (allowed on offers of $5 or more) or free shipping (offers of $10 or more). In Canada it is C$2.50 off from C$9 or free from C$22. A $50 listing offered at 10% off with the smaller discount pays out $34.50, which is 31% less than the list price.
Bundles: one fee, one label
A bundle is a single order, so it pays one fee and ships on one label. That is the easiest way out of the flat fee on cheap items: three $10 tops sold separately pay out $21.15, but bundled at $30 they pay out $24.00 because the fee is 20% of $30 rather than three lots of $2.95. Bundle offers do not force a shipping discount either.
Texas tax and other costs to know
Texas Seller Fee Tax
Sellers in Texas pay state and local sales tax on 80% of the Poshmark fee. At the common 8.25% combined rate, a $50 sale with a $10 fee adds $0.66, and a $100 sale adds $1.32. Switch on the Texas option in the calculator and enter your own rate if it differs.
Cash-out fees
Direct deposit to your bank is free and takes a few business days. Faster options carry a small charge per transfer: reported as about $2 for an instant transfer to a debit card and $0.35 for PayPal or Venmo in the US, or C$2 and C$0.50 in Canada. Because it is per transfer, cashing out several sales at once spreads the cost.
Sales tax, ads, live shows and authentication
- Sales tax is collected from the buyer and passed to the government. It is not part of your earnings or the fee base.
- Promoted Closetis an optional pay-per-click ad budget for US closets. Add what you spend to "Other costs".
- Posh Shows (live selling) use the same $2.95 / 20% fee as regular listings.
- Posh Authenticate is free for buyer and seller on items of $500 or more.
How to use this Poshmark profit calculator
Pick your country, enter the listing price and choose any offer and shipping discount. The results update as you type and show your payout, profit, margin and the share Poshmark keeps. Switch to "Price for a target profit" to work backwards from the money you want to make; it even leaves room for an offer you expect to accept. To do the same sum by hand:
- Start from the final sale price: your listing price minus any offer or bundle discount you accepted.
- If that price is under $15 (C$20 in Canada), the fee is $2.95 (C$3.95). Otherwise multiply it by 20%.
- In Canada, add GST/HST on the fee at your province’s rate. In Texas, add your sales-tax rate on 80% of the fee.
- Subtract the fee, any tax on it, the shipping discount you offered and any heavy-package upgrade to get your earnings.
- Subtract what you paid for the item and your supplies to get your profit.
As a formula for the US: earnings = price − fee − shipping discount − upgrade, where the fee is $2.95 below $15 and price × 0.20 from $15. Then profit = earnings − item cost − other costs. That is all a Poshmark earnings calculator needs to do, plus the Texas or Canadian tax line when it applies.

Poshmark fees vs eBay, Mercari, Depop, Etsy and Whatnot
Poshmark's 20% is one of the highest headline rates in resale, but it includes payment processing and the buyer covers standard shipping. Run the same item through each calculator to compare what actually lands in your account:
| Marketplace | Headline seller fee | Calculator |
|---|---|---|
| Poshmark | $2.95 under $15, 20% from $15 | You are here |
| eBay | 13.6% + per-order fee (most categories) | eBay fee calculator |
| Mercari | 10% of item + shipping | Mercari fee calculator |
| Depop | No selling fee in the US, processing only | Depop fee calculator |
| Etsy | $0.20 listing + 6.5% + processing | Etsy fee calculator |
| Whatnot | 8% + 2.9% + $0.30 processing | Whatnot fee calculator |
A higher fee can still be worth it when an item sells faster or for more. Many sellers list the same piece on several of these apps and let whichever buyer shows up first take it.

Tips to keep more of each Poshmark sale
- Price at $14.99, not $15. Anything from $15.00 to $15.04 pays you less.
- Bundle anything under $15. One 20% fee on the bundle beats several $2.95 fees on small sales.
- Treat shipping discounts as a cost. Build the $1.50 into your price if you plan to send offers to likers.
- List with offer room. Many sales happen through offers, so use the target-price mode with a 10–20% buffer.
- Weigh every box. Crossing 5 lb costs $5 and crossing 10 lb costs $10.
- Cash out in batches or use free direct deposit.
- Crosslist to sell faster. Listing the same item on Poshmark, eBay, Mercari and Whatnot puts it in front of more buyers, and Treecat does that from one listing.
FAQ
Poshmark fees: frequently asked questions (2026)
How much does Poshmark take from a sale?
In the US, Poshmark keeps a flat $2.95 when the sale is under $15 and 20% when it is $15 or more. In Canada it is C$3.95 under C$20 and 20% from C$20, plus GST/HST on that fee. Listing is free.
How much does Poshmark take on a $10 sale?
The flat $2.95 fee, so you keep $7.05 when the buyer pays shipping. That is 29.5% of the price, which is why cheap items are better sold in bundles.
How much does Poshmark take from a $20 sale?
Twenty percent, which is $4.00. You keep $16.00 before any shipping discount or costs.
Does Poshmark take a cut of shipping?
No. The fee is calculated on the order price only. The buyer pays the $6.49 label (C$12.49 in Canada) on top, and that money goes to the carrier, not to you or to Poshmark’s fee.
Who pays shipping on Poshmark?
The buyer, unless you choose to help. US buyers pay $6.49 for packages up to 5 lb. You only pay if you offer a shipping discount ($1.50 or the full $6.49) or ship a box heavier than 5 lb (+$5 up to 10 lb, +$10 up to 15 lb).
Does Poshmark charge buyers a fee?
No. There is no buyer fee on Poshmark. Buyers pay the price, shipping and sales tax.
What are Poshmark fees in Canada?
C$3.95 on sales under C$20 and 20% on sales of C$20 or more, plus GST or HST on the fee at your province’s rate (13% in Ontario, 5% in Alberta or BC). It is deducted from your earnings.
Is $14.99 or $15 better on Poshmark?
$14.99. It pays the $2.95 flat fee and nets $12.04, while $15.00 pays 20% and nets $12.00. You only come out ahead again from $15.05.
Why did Poshmark take more than 20%?
Usually a shipping discount: $1.50 or $6.49 comes out of your earnings on top of the fee. A heavy-package upgrade, the Texas fee tax, GST/HST in Canada or the flat fee on a cheap item also push the share above 20%.
Do I have to give a shipping discount with Offer to Likers?
Yes. Every Offer to Likers must be at least 10% off and include a shipping discount: $1.50 off (buyer pays $4.99) or free shipping in the US, C$2.50 off or free in Canada.
Are there fees to cash out from Poshmark?
Direct deposit is free. Faster options are reported to cost about $2 for an instant transfer and $0.35 for PayPal or Venmo in the US, and C$2 or C$0.50 in Canada. The app shows the exact fee before you confirm.
Do Texas sellers pay tax on Poshmark fees?
Yes. Poshmark charges your local sales-tax rate on 80% of its fee. At 8.25%, a $50 sale with a $10 fee costs an extra $0.66.
Can I sell on Poshmark in the UK, Australia or India?
No. Poshmark closed its UK, Australian and Indian marketplaces. Only the US and Canada remain.
Is Poshmark more expensive than eBay or Mercari?
On the headline rate, yes: 20% against roughly 13.6% plus a per-order fee on eBay and 10% on Mercari. But Poshmark’s buyers pay shipping and there is no separate payment processing fee, so compare the payout, not just the percentage.
