Vinted selling fees
How much does Vinted take in 2026?
Vinted takes nothing from sellers. The buyer pays a Vinted fee, usually $0.70 + 5% of the item price in the US, on top of your price and shipping. There is no fee to list, no commission when the item sells, no payment processing charge and no fee to move money to your bank. What the buyer agreed to pay for the item is what lands in your Vinted balance.
| Fee | Amount | Charged on | Who pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| Listing | $0 | — | — |
| Selling fee or commission | $0 | — | — |
| Payment processing | $0 | — | — |
| Vinted fee | $0.70 + 5% | Item price, not shipping or tax | Buyer |
| Shipping | Varies, often free for new users | Per order | Buyer |
| Withdrawal to bank | $0 | Per transfer | Seller |
| Bump | Shown in the app | Per item, optional | Seller |
What is the Vinted fee?
It is a mandatory fee added to every purchase, formerly called the Buyer Protection fee. Vinted renamed it without changing how it is calculated. Because the buyer pays it, it never reduces your payout, but it does raise the total your buyer sees. On cheap items the fixed $0.70 makes up most of it: a $5 item carries a $0.95 fee, 19% of the price.
Sales tax
Where US sales tax applies, Vinted collects it from the buyer and passes it to the state. It does not affect your earnings.
How to calculate Vinted fees and profit
Vinted selling fees are zero for sellers, so working out your earnings comes down to your own costs and to what the buyer pays on top. The calculator above does it in one step, or by hand:
- Start with your listing price and take off any offer or bundle discount you accepted. That is your payout: Vinted deducts nothing from it.
- Take away your purchase cost, any Bump you bought and extras such as packaging. What remains is your profit.
- For the buyer's side, add the Vinted fee ($0.70 + 5% of the item price in the US) and the shipping shown at checkout.
As formulas: payout = listing price × (1 − offer %), profit = payout − item cost − Bumps − other costs and buyer pays = payout + $0.70 + 5% × payout + shipping.
To price for a profit target, add your costs to the profit you want, then leave room for offers. If you expect a 20% offer, divide by 0.8. The "Price for a target profit" tab does this using the offer you enter.
Vinted fee examples
Your payout is always the item price. What changes with the price is how much the buyer adds on top:
| Item price | Vinted fee (buyer) | Buyer pays before shipping | You receive |
|---|---|---|---|
| $5 | $0.95 | $5.95 | $5.00 |
| $10 | $1.20 | $11.20 | $10.00 |
| $25 | $1.95 | $26.95 | $25.00 |
| $50 | $3.20 | $53.20 | $50.00 |
| $100 | $5.70 | $105.70 | $100.00 |
| $250 | $13.20 | $263.20 | $250.00 |
| $1,000 | $50.70 | $1,050.70 | $1,000.00 |

Price for the buyer's total
Buyers compare the total they pay. If a similar item sells elsewhere for $30 all in, listing at $27.90 on Vinted gives the buyer exactly $30.00 with the fee, and you still receive the full $27.90.
Vinted fees in the UK, Europe and Australia
Sellers pay nothing in every country Vinted operates in. Only the buyer's fee changes:
| Market | Usual Vinted fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| United States | $0.70 + 5% | No cap seen, even on $3,000 items |
| United Kingdom | £0.70 + 5% | Stops at £75; some kids, toys and home items differ |
| Euro countries | €0.70 + 5% | No cap, no reduced rate on expensive items |
| Australia | A$1.20 + 5% | GST included |
United Kingdom
Most UK listings carry £0.70 + 5%, and the fee stops at £75 on very expensive items. Vinted's own wording is "usually 3% to 8% + £0.30 to £0.80", and some categories, mostly children's clothing, toys and home items, use a lower fixed part with a higher percentage. That makes them cheaper for the buyer on small items and dearer on big ones. UK buyers can also pay for optional item verification. Switch the calculator to the United Kingdom to work in pounds.
Europe
In euro countries the fee is €0.70 + 5% at every price. Older guides mention a lower 2% rate on orders over €500. That tier no longer applies, so a €1,000 item now carries a €50.70 fee. Countries outside the euro use the same 5% with a local fixed amount.
Canada
Vinted closed its Canadian marketplace, so there are no Canadian fees to calculate. If you sell from Canada, the Poshmark, eBay and Depop calculators cover it.
Who pays shipping on Vinted?
The buyer always pays shipping. When an item sells, Vinted gives you a prepaid label for the carrier the buyer picked (USPS, FedEx or SpeedX in the US) and you have five business days to send it. The postage never touches your balance, which is why the calculator treats shipping as part of what the buyer pays rather than as a cost to you.
US shipping prices have been low while Vinted grows: new buyers and new sellers get free shipping on their first three orders, and delivery to a Vinted Go shop ships free. Otherwise the price depends on the carrier, parcel size and distance, and the buyer sees it before paying. If a parcel is lost or damaged on a Vinted label, sellers are compensated up to a limit set by the carrier.
How offers, bundles and Bumps change your profit
Offers
Buyers can offer up to 40% below your listing price, and you can also send offers yourself. Whatever you accept is what you receive, and the buyer's Vinted fee is worked out on that lower price. Use the offer field to see what a counter-offer leaves you with before you accept it.
Bundles
Buyers can put several items from your closet in one order, and you can set an automatic bundle discount. You receive the bundle price after the discount. For the buyer a bundle means one shipping charge instead of several, which is a strong reason to offer one on low-priced items.
Bumps and Showcase
A Bump pushes one item up the feed for 3 or 7 days. It is the only optional cost that comes from you, and Vinted prices it in the app by item price and duration. Treat it as a cost of the sale: a Bump is worth it when it sells an item noticeably faster or for more than you would otherwise get. In the UK and Europe, Showcase promotes your whole closet at a price also shown at checkout.
Getting paid: the Vinted balance and withdrawals
The money from a sale is held until the buyer confirms everything is fine, or two days after delivery if they don't respond. It then moves to your available balance. Withdrawing to a bank account is free, has a very low minimum and can take up to five business days to arrive. Vinted may ask you to verify your identity before your first withdrawal.
How Vinted makes money when sellers keep 100%
Mostly from the Vinted fee every buyer pays. On top of that come optional services: Bumps and Showcase for sellers, item verification for buyers in the UK and Europe, and advertising. Charging the buyer instead of the seller makes listing risk-free, which helps Vinted grow the number of items for sale.
The catch for sellers is indirect. Your buyer sees a higher total than your price, and on very cheap items the fixed part of the fee can put buyers off. Bundles and slightly lower prices help.
Vinted fees vs Poshmark, Mercari and Depop
For sellers Vinted is the cheapest of the big resale apps. Here is what you keep from a $25 sale with buyer-paid shipping:
| Marketplace | Seller fee | You keep | Calculator |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vinted | $0 (buyer pays $1.95) | $25.00 | You are here |
| Depop (US) | 3.3% + $0.45 processing | $23.72 | Depop fee calculator |
| Mercari | 10% of item + shipping | $22.50 | Mercari fee calculator |
| Poshmark | 20% from $15 | $20.00 | Poshmark fee calculator |
Lower fees don't guarantee a faster sale. Poshmark and Mercari still have more US buyers, while Vinted is growing quickly. Many sellers list the same item on several apps and let it sell wherever the right buyer turns up first.
How to make more on Vinted
- Price for the buyer's total. Your buyer compares what they pay with the fee and shipping, so a slightly lower price can win the sale without costing you more than a small discount.
- Bundle cheap items. The fixed part of the fee and one shipping charge are spread over several items, which makes small purchases more attractive.
- Leave room for offers. List a little above your floor so a 10% to 20% offer still clears your target profit.
- Bump selectively. Spend on Bumps for items that sell well once seen, and track whether they pay for themselves.
- Crosslist. List once and publish the same piece to Poshmark, Mercari and eBay alongside Vinted, and let it sell wherever the price and buyer fit best.
FAQ
Vinted fees: frequently asked questions (2026)
How much does Vinted take from sellers?
Nothing. Vinted has no listing fee, commission, payment processing fee or withdrawal fee, so you receive the full price the buyer agreed to. A $25 sale puts $25.00 in your balance. Vinted earns from a separate fee the buyer pays at checkout, usually $0.70 + 5% of the item price in the US.
How much does Vinted charge buyers?
Buyers pay the Vinted fee, usually $0.70 + 5% of the item price in the US, £0.70 + 5% in the UK and €0.70 + 5% in euro countries, plus shipping. On a $25 item the fee is $1.95, so the buyer pays $26.95 before shipping.
How is the Vinted fee calculated?
It is worked out on the agreed item or bundle price, not on shipping or tax: a fixed amount plus 5%, rounded to the cent. A $50 item carries a $3.20 fee ($0.70 + $2.50). Vinted always shows the exact fee on the listing before the buyer pays.
Is the Vinted fee the same as the Buyer Protection fee?
Yes. Vinted renamed the Buyer Protection fee to the "Vinted fee" and says the calculation did not change: the buyer still pays $0.70 plus 5% of the item in the US, and you still pay nothing. Buyer refund rights are now set out in a separate refund policy rather than under the fee name.
Who pays shipping on Vinted?
The buyer. Once an item sells you print the prepaid label Vinted provides, and the postage is charged to the buyer rather than to your balance. In the US, new buyers and new sellers get free shipping on their first few orders; after that the price depends on the carrier, parcel size and distance.
Is there a maximum Vinted fee?
In the UK the standard Vinted fee stops at £75, which is reached on items priced at about £1,486 or more. No cap shows up on US or euro listings, where the fee keeps growing at 5%: a $3,000 item carries a $150.70 fee. Either way, the seller pays none of it.
Why is the Vinted fee different on some UK items?
Vinted describes the UK fee as usually 3% to 8% plus £0.30 to £0.80. Most items use £0.70 + 5%, but some categories such as children’s clothing, toys and home items show a lower fixed part and a higher percentage. The listing shows the exact amount.
Does the Vinted fee apply after I accept an offer?
Yes, on the accepted price. Offers can be up to 40% below your listing price, and you receive exactly the price you accept. The buyer’s fee is then worked out on that lower amount, so a $40 item sold for $32 carries a $2.30 fee. The fee and shipping cannot be negotiated.
How much does a Vinted Bump cost?
Bumps last 3 or 7 days, and the price depends on the item price and the duration. Vinted shows it before you pay but does not publish a price list, so enter what the app shows you in the calculator to see the effect on profit.
Is it free to withdraw money from Vinted?
Yes, Vinted lists no withdrawal fee, so moving your balance to a bank account costs nothing. Money from a sale becomes available once the buyer confirms the order, or two days after delivery if they don’t respond, and the bank transfer can take up to five business days to arrive.
Can I sell on Vinted as a business in the US?
No. Vinted Pro, the programme for business sellers, is only available in the UK and some European countries. US accounts are meant for individuals selling items from their own wardrobe and home, which is also why Vinted can keep seller fees at zero there.
Is Vinted available in Canada?
No. Vinted closed its Canadian marketplace, so there is no Canadian fee schedule to calculate. Canadian sellers can compare fees on marketplaces that still operate there with our Poshmark, eBay and Depop calculators, which all support Canadian dollars and Canadian fee rules.
Is Vinted cheaper than Poshmark or Mercari for sellers?
On fees, yes. A $25 sale pays you $25.00 on Vinted, $22.50 on Mercari (10%) and $20.00 on Poshmark (20%). The trade-off is that the buyer pays more on top, and the US buyer base is still smaller than on the older apps.
