Grailed selling fees

How much does Grailed take in 2026?

Grailed takes 6% of the sale price when it is under $120 (never less than $1.99) and 9% when it is $120 or more. US sales also carry 3.49% + $0.49 in processing. Listing costs nothing and buyers pay no extra fee. In practice you keep about 90% of a sale under $120 and about 87% of a sale above it. This page, and the Grailed fee calculator above it, use the rates in Grailed's Help Center articles on fees and payment processing.

Payment processing fees

Processing is a second charge on every sale, on top of the commission. Two things set the rate: the buyer's country, and whether you have completed Stripe onboarding.

What counts as the sale price?

Both the commission and the $120 line are measured on the price the item actually sells for, after any offer you accept. A Grailed Label keeps postage out of that figure. Buy your own postage and Grailed adds the shipping the buyer pays. That makes no difference to US sales, which must use Grailed Labels, but it matters for international orders, where $10 of shipping can lift a $115 jacket into the 9% rate.

The $120 line and the $1.99 minimum

Why $119.99 beats $120 to $124

The 9% rate applies to the whole sale, not just the part above $120. Crossing the line adds about $3.60 in commission at once, so a sale at $120 pays you $104.52 while $119.99 pays $108.11. You only get back to that payout at $124.10. If you are pricing close to the line, list at $119.99, or set a price well above $124 so the extra 9% is covered.

$123.08$11.08$4.79$107.21
$124.10$11.17$4.82$108.11

The calculator warns you when your price lands in that gap, and the target-profit mode skips over it automatically.

Why cheap items pay a $1.99 floor

Six percent of $33.17 is $1.99, so every sale below that pays a flat $1.99 commission. On a $15 tee that is more than 13% of the price before processing. Bundling two or three cheap pieces into one listing pays the minimum once: two $25 shirts sold separately pay out $43.30, but listed together at $50 they pay out $44.76.

Grailed’s current fees vs the old flat 9%

Grailed charged a flat 9% commission for years before moving to the 6% and 9% tiers in 2026. Whether you pay more or less now depends on the price:

Who pays more since the 2026 change
Sale priceChange vs flat 9%Example
Under $22.11You pay more (the $1.99 minimum)$10 sale: $1.09 more
$22.11 to $119.99You pay less$100 sale: $3.00 less
$120 and aboveNo change$150 sale: the same $13.50

Old calculators still use 9%

Many Grailed fee calculators, and even some older Grailed help pages, still apply a flat 9% to everything, so below $120 they show 9% where Grailed now takes 6%.

Who pays shipping on Grailed?

Grailed Labels

Every sale from a US seller to a US buyer ships with a prepaid Grailed Label, and Canada-to-US sales under $750 and 20 lb use them too. The buyer pays the label at checkout, so it costs you nothing and is not part of the commission. Grailed sets the price per order from the package size and address and does not publish a rate card.

Offering free shipping

If you choose free shipping, the label cost is taken from your payout instead. On sales over $750 Grailed also adds signature confirmation for $4, which you pay when shipping is free. Enter an estimate of the label price in the calculator to see the effect.

Shipping internationally on your own label

Outside the Grailed Label routes you buy postage yourself and charge the buyer shipping. Grailed folds that shipping into the sale price, which means it pays commission and counts toward the $120 line. A $100 item with $25 shipping becomes a $125 sale at 9%; pricing it at $95 with $24 shipping keeps it at 6%.

How offers change your Grailed fees

Grailed works out its commission from the price you agree to, so accepting an offer shrinks the fee along with the price. Around $120 that can work in your favour: accepting $119 on a $124 listing gives the buyer $5 off but costs you only $0.80 of payout. Further from the line, offers bite harder: taking $115 on a $140 listing cuts your payout from $122.02 to $103.60.

The offer check under the results shows your payout at 5% to 20% off and highlights any offer that changes the rate. Offers on Grailed are binding outside the EU and UK, so check the number before you accept.

Selling on Grailed from outside the US

Grailed runs one marketplace for every country and all prices are in US dollars. The commission is the same for everyone, but a few things change:

  • Processing: sales to buyers in another country are charged 4.99% + $0.49, and sellers in countries without Stripe pay 4.99% + $0.49 on every sale.
  • VAT or GST on the commission:sellers in the UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand and Norway may see tax added to Grailed's fee at their home rate. Entering a VAT number as a registered business removes it.
  • Shipping: Canadian sellers use Grailed Labels for US buyers. Others usually ship on their own label, which brings shipping into the sale price.
  • Currency: your payout is converted from USD by your payment provider, which may apply its own exchange rate.

This calculator covers US-dollar fees and processing. Add any VAT on the commission or currency costs to "Other costs".

When does Grailed pay you, and other costs

Grailed releases your money within 3 calendar days after the buyer receives the item. From there a bank transfer takes about 2–3 business days in the US, or up to 10 business days in other countries. Sellers with a strong track record can be paid as soon as the package is in transit. Grailed does not charge a payout fee.

  • Sales tax is collected from US buyers in almost every state and passed to the state. It is not part of your payout.
  • Import dutieson international orders are paid by the buyer unless you have joined Grailed's seller-paid duties program.
  • Refunds: fees come back automatically on a full refund, but not on a refund caused by a lost-package claim.
  • Tax forms: US sellers receive a 1099-K once they pass the federal threshold of $20,000 and 200 sales in a year, or a lower state threshold.

How to use this Grailed fee calculator

Type in your listing price, then choose an offer, the buyer's location and your shipping method. Fill in your item cost and the tool doubles as a Grailed profit calculator: payout, profit, margin and the share Grailed keeps update as you type. Switch to "Price for a target profit" to work backwards from the money you want to make; it stays under $120 when that is enough and skips the gap above it when it is not. To do the same sum by hand:

  1. Start with the price the item sells for, after any offer you accept. Add the shipping you charge only if you ship on your own label.
  2. If that sale price is under $120, the commission is 6% of it, but never less than $1.99. From $120, it is 9%.
  3. Work out payment processing: 3.49% of the sale price plus $0.49 for a US buyer, or 4.99% plus $0.49 for an international buyer.
  4. Subtract the commission, processing and any label you pay for to get your payout, then subtract what the item cost you to get your profit.

As a formula for a US sale under $120: payout = price − max($1.99, price × 0.06) − (price × 0.0349 + $0.49). From $120 the commission is price × 0.09. Then profit = payout − item cost − other costs. That is everything a Grailed earnings calculator needs.

Grailed fees vs eBay, Depop, Poshmark and Vinted

Grailed sits in the middle of the resale apps on fees. Run the same piece through each calculator to see what actually lands in your account:

Headline seller fees by marketplace

Poshmark$2.95 under $15, 20% from $15Poshmark fee calculator
Mercari10% of item + shippingMercari fee calculator
VintedNo seller fees, the buyer pays a feeVinted fee calculator

A higher fee can still be worth paying if a piece sells faster or for more. Menswear and designer items often do best on Grailed, so many sellers list them there and on eBay at the same time.

Tips to keep more of each Grailed sale

  • Price at $119.99, not $120. Anything from $120.00 to $124.09 pays you less.
  • Finish Stripe onboarding. It cuts the fixed processing fee from $0.99 to $0.49 on every sale.
  • Combine cheap pieces. One listing pays the $1.99 minimum and $0.49 processing fee once.
  • Set international shipping with the $120 line in mind. Own-label shipping counts toward it.
  • Treat free shipping as a cost. Build the label into your price if you offer it.
  • List with offer room. Use the target-price mode with an offer buffer so an accepted offer still hits your number.
  • Crosslist to sell faster. Listing the same piece on several marketplaces puts it in front of more buyers.

FAQ

Grailed fees: frequently asked questions (2026)

How much does Grailed take from a sale?

Grailed keeps 6% of any sale below $120, never less than $1.99, and 9% of any sale at $120 or above. Payment processing comes on top: 3.49% + $0.49 when the buyer is in the US. So a $100 sale pays you $90.02 and a $200 sale pays you $174.53, before shipping and item costs.

Did Grailed lower its fees?

For most sellers, yes. Grailed used to take a flat 9% of every sale. The commission is now 6% below $120 and still 9% from $120 up, so mid-priced pieces cost less to sell. The exception is very cheap items: below about $22, the new $1.99 floor works out higher than the old 9%.

Is it better to sell at $119 or $120 on Grailed?

Sell at $119. It pays you $107.22, while $120 pays $104.52, because at $120 the 9% rate covers the entire price rather than just the part above the line. Every sale price from $120.00 up to $124.09 leaves you with less than $119.99 would, so price just below $120 or clearly above $124.

Why did I pay more in fees on a cheap item?

Grailed never takes less than $1.99 in commission, and that floor kicks in on every sale below roughly $33. On a $10 item, $1.99 is close to a fifth of the price, before the $0.49 processing charge. Grouping a few low-priced pieces into one listing means you pay both of those fixed amounts once.

Does Grailed take a cut of shipping?

Not with a Grailed Label, which every US-to-US sale ships on: commission is worked out on the item alone. When you buy your own postage, usually for overseas orders, Grailed treats the shipping you charge as part of the sale price. That shipping is then charged commission and can lift the sale past $120.

What is the Grailed payment processing fee?

For sellers who have completed Stripe onboarding, processing is 3.49% + $0.49 on payments from US buyers and 4.99% + $0.49 on payments from buyers abroad. Sellers who have not finished onboarding pay a $0.99 fixed charge instead, and 5.49% on international payments. Processing is separate from the commission.

Does Grailed charge buyers a fee?

No. There is no buyer-side fee on Grailed: checkout adds no service or protection charge, just the item, its shipping and any sales tax or import duties due where the buyer lives. All of Grailed’s fees come out of the seller’s side of the sale, which is why the commission and processing are the numbers to watch.

How much does Grailed charge for shipping?

Grailed does not publish label rates. Each Grailed Label is priced at checkout from the package size and the delivery address, and the buyer pays it unless you offer free shipping. With free shipping the label is deducted from your payout, and sales above $750 also carry a $4 signature confirmation charge.

When does Grailed pay you?

Grailed releases your money within 3 calendar days of the buyer receiving the item. The bank transfer then takes around 2–3 business days for US sellers and up to 10 business days for sellers elsewhere. Established sellers with a good record can be paid earlier, once the package is moving.

Do I get my fees back if I refund a sale?

Yes, on a full refund. Refund the whole order and Grailed hands both of its fees back to you automatically. The exception is a refund triggered by a lost-package claim: in that case the fees stay with Grailed, so a parcel that goes missing costs you the item and the fees.

Do international sellers pay higher Grailed fees?

The commission is identical in every country. What changes is processing, which is 4.99% + $0.49 on payments from buyers in another country. Sellers based in the UK, the EU, Australia, New Zealand or Norway may also see VAT or GST added to the commission, unless they register a VAT number with Grailed.

Is Grailed cheaper than eBay, Poshmark or Depop?

Below $120, Grailed costs roughly 10% of the sale including processing, which beats Poshmark’s 20% and usually beats eBay. Depop is cheaper in the US because it charges no selling fee, only processing. Above $120, Grailed’s all-in cost rises to about 12.5–13%, so the gap with eBay narrows.
