How to Set Up Treecat and Sync Your Reseller Inventory
How to Set Up Your Treecat Account and Start Syncing Inventory
Getting started with Treecat is designed to be simple, even if you’re juggling inventory across multiple marketplaces. In this quick guide, we’ll walk through the five key steps to set up your account, install the agent, import your inventory and sales, and match your existing crosslisted listings.
The goal isn’t just to launch Treecat — it’s to help your inventory work together so you spend less time managing marketplaces and more time selling.
1. Register for Your Treecat Account
Start by going to Treecat.io and clicking Login. From there, you can sign in with your Google account to access your Treecat dashboard.
You may also see affiliate code options during sign-in. You can choose one if needed, or skip that step and continue without one.
2. Install the Treecat Agent
Next, download the Treecat agent from treecat.io by clicking Download Agent. Choose the version that matches your computer:
- Windows
- Mac
- Debian-based Linux
After downloading, follow the installation wizard to complete setup. Once installed, open the agent and sign in with your Treecat account.
You’ll also choose a performance mode:
- Economy: uses the fewest system resources
- Balanced: offers a good mix of speed and efficiency
- Performance: delivers the fastest processing, but uses more CPU and memory
Once configured, the agent runs in the background. Make sure your computer stays on and does not go to sleep, so Treecat can keep working continuously.
3. Connect Your Marketplaces
To connect your selling channels, go to Settings > Marketplaces under Operations. Then click Add Marketplace and connect each marketplace one by one.
Treecat supports multiple marketplace connections, allowing you to centralize your workflow and keep listings in sync.
4. Import Your Inventory and Sales
Once your marketplaces are connected, move to the Import section to bring in your inventory.
- Select your marketplaces
- Click Start Import
Then go to your Sales page and repeat the process to import sales data as well. The default mode is typically Quick Mode, so you can simply click Start Import to begin.
5. Match Your Existing Crosslisted Inventory
The last step is matching your existing crosslisted items so Treecat can recognize what belongs together.
Go to your Inventory page and click Matching. Then select Calculate so Treecat can generate suggestions. After a few minutes, you’ll see recommended matches that you can:
- Accept
- Dismiss
- Review before confirming
This helps clean up your catalog and ensures your synced listings stay accurate across all marketplaces.
