Treecat Update: AWS Outage Response, Poshmark Sharing, and a New Bulk Editing Tool
This week was a busy one at Treecat. Between the wider AWS/DNS disruption that affected many businesses across the internet and the usual day-to-day demands of running a reselling business, our team had plenty to respond to.
The good news: Treecat’s development team moved quickly, handled a surge of bug reports and glitch reports, and kept customers updated. We also have a new feature on the way that should make managing listings much easier.
What Happened During the AWS Outage?
A major Amazon Web Services issue caused widespread connectivity problems for many companies and users. While Treecat was not directly affected by the outage, we definitely felt the ripple effects.
During the week of October 20 through October 27, we saw the highest number of bug reports, reversion reports, and glitch reports in Treecat history. That kind of situation highlights an important reality in modern software:
- Many platforms rely on microservices
- Open-source libraries are deeply interconnected
- DNS and other infrastructure dependencies can impact services far outside the original problem
Even when the issue is outside your control, the response still matters.
Why Treecat’s Fast Response Matters
One thing we’re especially proud of is how quickly the Treecat team responded. Some issues were resolved within hours, others within a day, and the team is still working through a few more.
That kind of responsiveness matters because users expect software to keep working smoothly, even when something upstream breaks. At Treecat, we take that seriously.
If you sent in a bug report, reversion report, or glitch report this week, thank you. Those reports help us harden the system and improve the experience for everyone.
Is Sharing on Poshmark Still Important?
Yes — Treecat is still sharing Poshmark closets, and we recommend continuing to do so.
Even though Poshmark has shifted toward a more agentic search experience, sharing still helps keep your closet active and visible. Buyers still look for signs that a seller is engaged and responsive, and Poshmark parties are still part of the platform.
What’s changing is that listing quality matters even more now:
- Clear, crisp photos
- Accurate item specifics
- Complete listing details
- Strong presentation overall
So the short answer is: yes, keep sharing, but also pay more attention to the quality of your listings.
New Feature Sneak Peek: Bulk Editing
We’re excited to share a preview of a new bulk editing tool that will go live next week.
This feature is designed for sellers who need to make changes to multiple listings at once. With bulk editing, you’ll be able to select several items and apply changes in one step.
Possible bulk actions will include:
- Price changes
- Category changes
- Marketplace-specific updates
- Other listing edits
For now, the first version will be simple: select your items, choose the marketplace, pick the change you want to make, and apply it to the selected listings.
This should be especially helpful for sellers with large inventories, but smaller sellers with similar items will also benefit.
Final Thoughts
We’re proud of how the Treecat team handled a challenging week, and we’re grateful to our customers for staying engaged and sending helpful reports. That feedback makes the platform better for everyone.
We’ll keep improving Treecat, keep responding quickly, and keep building tools that save resellers time.
And if you know a programmer, hug them.
Have a great weekend, and mahalo.
