How Treecat Is Staying Three Steps Ahead for Q4

As summer winds down and Q4 approaches, resellers have a lot to prepare for. Back-to-school shopping, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s all happen in a short window, and that means more orders, more stress, and more pressure on your inventory systems.

At Treecat, we’ve been thinking ahead about how to make crosslisting, automation, and inventory management more reliable when it matters most.

Why Q4 Demands a Proactive Reselling Strategy

Q4 is one of the busiest seasons of the year for resellers. Sales often increase, but so do the challenges:

  • More inventory movement
  • Higher demand for shipping supplies
  • Seasonal illnesses and added stress
  • Weather disruptions like snow, sleet, or power outages

If you wait until October to get prepared, it may already be too late. Being proactive now can help you stay ahead of the rush.

What I’ve Been Doing This Summer to Get Ready

This summer, I focused on a few things that made a big difference in my own reselling business:

  • Did a full physical inventory audit
  • Organized my workspace
  • Found unlisted inventory that had been hiding in boxes
  • Ordered shipping supplies early
  • Stocked up on thank-you cards, labels, bubble wrap, and other essentials

I also started thinking more intentionally about seasonal sourcing. For example, summer is a great time to source:

  • Christmas sweaters
  • Boots
  • Jackets
  • Cozy pajamas
  • Giftable items

The earlier you plan, the better positioned you’ll be when demand rises.

Introducing Treecat’s Confirm Quantity Feature

One of the newest features we’ve rolled out is Confirm Quantity, designed to help with reliability when failure conditions happen.

A failure condition can include things like:

  • Loss of power
  • Internet outages
  • Marketplace connection issues
  • Manual disconnects, like logging out to create another account

If Treecat detects that power or internet was lost and then restored, Confirm Quantity can run automatically in the background to help resync your inventory.

In certain edge cases, you may need to run it manually. For example, if you disconnect from a marketplace yourself, you can go into your sales, locate the affected item, and click Confirm Quantity to recheck and resync the listing status.

Why Reliability Matters in Crosslisting Software

A lot of crosslisting tools focus on features, but reliability is just as important. When one platform sells an item, you need confidence that the item will be taken down everywhere else correctly and quickly.

That’s why Treecat is paying attention to the behind-the-scenes details that help keep your business running smoothly, even when unexpected problems come up.

We’re also working on better communication around marketplace changes, so if a platform like Mercari changes something that affects syncing, users can understand what’s happening and when it’s likely to be fixed.

Stay Ready, Stay Ahead

The main takeaway is simple: Q4 is coming fast, and now is the time to prepare.

If you:

  • audit your inventory
  • organize your space
  • restock your supplies
  • source seasonally
  • and use tools that prioritize reliability

…you’ll be in a much better position when business speeds up.

Treecat is here to help resellers stay three steps ahead. If you have questions or ideas, we’d love to hear from you.
