How to Cross-List Inventory with Treecat Software
Cross-listing helps resellers save time by taking one product listing and publishing it across multiple marketplaces. In this walkthrough, Michelle from Treecat Software explains how to cross-list an item from eBay to Mercari and Poshmark using Treecat’s app.
1. Find the Item You Want to Cross-List
The process starts inside the Treecat app. From there, you can search for the item you want to move to other platforms.
Michelle recommends using the filter button next to search to find listings that are already on eBay but not yet on Mercari and Poshmark. That’s a helpful setup if you usually create listings on eBay first and then use Treecat to expand your reach.
Of course, the workflow can be reversed depending on your selling strategy. You can also start on Mercari or Poshmark and cross-list to the other platforms.
2. Copy the Listing from eBay
Once the item is found, open the eBay version of the listing. In Treecat, the platform icon turns green when the listing contains data, which makes it easy to see where the source listing is coming from.
To begin the transfer, click the Copy Item button. This copies the listing information from eBay into the other connected marketplaces, in this case Mercari and Poshmark.
After copying, the Mercari and Poshmark icons turn green, indicating that the data has been transferred and is ready for review.
3. Update the Mercari Listing Details
After copying the item, click into the Mercari tab to review and complete the listing details. Treecat pulls over key information like:
- Product name
- Description
- Price
Some fields still need to be filled in manually, including:
- Category
- Subcategory
- Color
- Size
- Shipping method
- Shipping carrier
- Condition
- Hashtags
- Brand
Michelle notes that it’s important to clean up the description and make any grammar fixes before listing. She also recommends saving changes often using the green Save Changes button.
For this example, the item is categorized under women’s underwear, listed as black, sized large, and marked as like new. Shipping is set to standard shipping through USPS, with the buyer paying shipping.
4. Complete the Poshmark Listing
Next, Michelle switches to the Poshmark tab and reviews the imported listing there as well. As with Mercari, the system carries over the core details, but some fields still need manual updates.
For Poshmark, she adjusts items such as:
- Category
- Size category
- Size variation
- Color
- Brand
- Condition
- Style name and tags
She also points out that formatting from eBay may not always transfer perfectly, especially if bullets were used in the original listing. That’s why it’s a good idea to review the text and make small edits before publishing.
Again, the key step is to click Save Changes when you are done.
5. List the Item to Mercari and Poshmark
Once both listings are complete, go to the Actions section at the bottom of the app and click List.
Treecat then publishes the item to both Mercari and Poshmark. A progress bubble appears while the listing is being processed, and you can also open the Events panel to see the status in real time.
When the process is complete, the platform icons turn green and the event log confirms that both listings were successful.
6. Why Treecat Makes Cross-Listing Easier

- Reduce duplicate data entry
For resellers looking to grow efficiently, Treecat offers a streamlined way to manage multi-channel listings.
