How to Match Items in Treecat Software

If you’re reselling across multiple marketplaces, matching the same product listing between platforms can save time and reduce errors. In this quick walkthrough, Michelle from Treecat shows how to use the Match feature inside Treecat software to connect an item across marketplaces like eBay, Mercari, and Poshmark.

1. Open the Treecat App and Find Your Item

Start by logging into the Treecat app and locating the item you want to match. Michelle explains that the process begins by making sure you are in the correct listing view—such as My eBay Items—before attempting to match anything.

This step matters because you want to confirm you’re working with the right product before linking it to another marketplace listing.

2. Use the Match Button

Once you’ve found the item, look for the Match button near the actions area at the bottom of the listing.

Clicking Match tells Treecat to search for possible corresponding listings on other platforms. In the example from the transcript, Treecat looks for matches on Mercari and Poshmark.

3. Review the Suggested Match Details

Treecat may show one or more possible matches. Before confirming anything, you can click the info icon (the small “i”) to review the listing details.

This is an important step because it helps you verify that the suggested product is truly the same item. If the details look correct, close the info panel and continue.

4. Confirm the Match

When you’re sure the listing is the right one, click the plus icon to complete the match. Treecat will then ask you to confirm.

After confirming, the platform will show that the link was successful. If there’s another marketplace listing available, you can repeat the same process there—review the details, then confirm the match.

5. Finish and Return to Your Work

Once both items have been matched, simply click the X in the upper-right corner to exit the screen and return to where you were before.
