Treecat.io Co-Founder Interview | Solving Double Sales. Saving You Time & Money. #crosslisting

Treecat.io: Crosslisting Software Built by a Reseller, for Resellers
If you sell online, you already know how quickly a small inventory mistake can become a big problem. In this conversation, Treecat co-founder Michelle explains how her own experience as a reseller inspired her to build Treecat.io — a crosslisting platform designed to save time, prevent overselling, and simplify multichannel selling.
1. What Treecat.io Does
Treecat.io is a crosslisting service for online sellers. At its core, it helps resellers list items across multiple marketplaces and automatically handles the takedown process when an item sells.
That matters because crosslisting manually can be time-consuming and risky. If a product sells on one platform but stays live on another, sellers can end up with double sales and have to cancel orders. Treecat was built to help solve that problem.
2. Why Michelle Built Treecat
Michelle didn’t start with software — she started as a reseller.
While trying to scale her own business by listing on several platforms, she ran into a common pain point: sold items weren’t being removed fast enough from other marketplaces. She also tried virtual assistants, but found that approach expensive and inconvenient, especially when it meant sharing passwords.
Treecat came out of that frustration. Michelle wanted a better way to automate the repetitive parts of reselling so sellers could focus on growth instead of constant monitoring.
3. Key Features That Set Treecat Apart
Treecat positions itself as more than a basic crosslisting tool. A few standout features discussed in the interview include:
- Automated takedowns when an item sells
- Free Poshmark sharing
- De-list and relist tools to help listings stay fresh in search results
- Guest accounts for virtual assistants, which help sellers avoid sharing passwords
Michelle emphasized that these features are designed to improve both efficiency and security. For larger sellers, the guest-account feature in particular can be a major advantage.
4. Treecat’s Pay-As-You-Sell Pricing Model
One of Treecat’s biggest differentiators is its pricing.
Instead of a monthly subscription, Treecat uses a pay-as-you-sell model. That means sellers only pay when the software is actually doing work for them — specifically, when a sold item is taken down from other platforms.
According to the interview:
- Users with a promo code can get 20% off
- The first 1 to 30 sales per month are billed at 50 cents per takedown
- Without a promo code, the rate is 60 cents per sales detection/auto-delist action
- As sales volume increases, the per-takedown cost drops
This model is especially appealing for newer or seasonal sellers who don’t want to commit to a fixed monthly SaaS fee.
5. The Reseller Mindset Behind the Product
A major theme in the conversation is that Treecat was built by someone who actually understands the reseller workflow.
Michelle talked about how much time it takes to:
- Manually share Poshmark listings
- Relist items to improve visibility
- Crosslist products across different marketplaces
- Keep up with sales notifications at inconvenient times
Because she has lived that experience herself, Treecat’s feature set reflects practical seller needs rather than abstract software ideas. She also shared that she is the first Treecat user and product tester, which reinforces the company’s seller-first approach.
6. Looking Ahead
Treecat is still growing, and Michelle said the roadmap includes support for more platforms such as:
- Shopify
- Etsy
- Whatnot
- Other niche or vertical marketplaces
She also noted that online selling is becoming increasingly specialized, with marketplaces built around specific categories like sneakers, sports cards, and LEGO. Expanding into those verticals is part of Treecat’s future vision.
At the heart of it all is a simple idea: build software that helps resellers save time, reduce stress, and scale smarter.
