Auto-delist and inventory sync · Updated October 9, 2026

How fast does Treecat delist an item after it sells?

Treecat checks every connected marketplace for new sales every 30 minutes, around the clock, and queues the delist on your other marketplaces as soon as a sale is detected. Most crosslisted items are delisted everywhere else within about 30 minutes of the sale. If a delist ever fails, Treecat emails you a link to the listing so you can remove it yourself.

What happens when an item sells

  1. An item sells on one of your marketplaces, for example Poshmark.
  2. Within the next 30-minute check, Treecat sees the new sale on that marketplace.
  3. Treecat lowers the quantity of the crosslisted item. When it reaches zero, the listings on your other marketplaces are queued for delisting straight away.
  4. Each marketplace delist runs from the queue, usually within minutes. If one fails after retries, you get an email with a link to that listing.

Sale checks run on Treecat’s servers on a fixed schedule, 24 hours a day, including while you sleep. You do not need to have Treecat open in a browser.

What needs to be in place

  • The listings are matched as one item. Auto-delist works on crosslisted items, meaning the eBay, Poshmark and Mercari listings are linked as the same item in Treecat. Items you crosslist with Treecat are linked automatically; for listings you made elsewhere, use matching. See how matching works.
  • Your Treecat agent is online for agent-based marketplaces. Mercari, Poshmark, Whatnot, Facebook Marketplace and Etsy are reached through the Treecat agent on your computer, so that computer needs to be on and awake. eBay, Amazon and Shopify are checked from Treecat’s servers. See do I need to leave my computer on.
  • Your marketplace logins are current. If a marketplace session expires, Treecat emails you to log in again. Sales on that marketplace cannot be checked until you do.
  • Billing is set up. Automatic sale checks run for accounts with a valid payment method.

The very first sales sync of a newly connected marketplace imports your sales history. It does not delist anything, so old sales cannot pull live listings down by surprise.

Can an item still sell twice?

Rarely, yes, and that is true of every crosslisting tool. Poshmark, Mercari and most resale marketplaces do not notify outside tools the instant something sells, so every tool has to check. If the same one-of-a-kind item is bought on a second marketplace in the minutes between the sale and the delist, you will need to cancel one order.

Ways to keep that window small:

  • Keep the computer running the Treecat agent on, awake and online.
  • For high-value one-of-a-kind items, delist manually from Treecat the moment you get the sale notification.
  • Use Confirm Quantity so quantities that drift between marketplaces get caught.

How to test auto-delist before you rely on it

  1. Crosslist a low-value test item to two marketplaces from Treecat, for example eBay and Mercari.
  2. In Treecat, open the item and check that both marketplace listings show as linked to it.
  3. Sell the item on one marketplace (a friend’s purchase or your own second account works), and note the time.
  4. Within about 30 minutes the sale appears in Treecat’s Sales page and the other listing changes to delisted. Check the other marketplace directly to confirm it is gone.
  5. If it is still live after an hour, check that your Treecat agent is online and the marketplace login is current, then email [email protected] with the item link.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Treecat delist instantly when an item sells?

Not instantly. Treecat checks for new sales every 30 minutes, 24/7, and queues the delists as soon as a sale is detected, so most items are delisted everywhere else within about 30 minutes.

Does Treecat only sync once an hour?

No. Sales are checked every 30 minutes. Separately, Treecat imports new listings you created directly on a marketplace about once an hour, which is unrelated to how fast sold items are delisted.

Does auto-delist work while my computer is off?

For eBay, Amazon and Shopify, yes: those are checked from Treecat’s servers. For Mercari, Poshmark, Whatnot, Facebook Marketplace and Etsy, the computer running the Treecat agent must be on, awake and online.

What happens if Treecat cannot delist an item?

Treecat retries automatically. If the delist still fails, you get an email with a link to the listing on that marketplace so you can remove it yourself.

Is auto-delist an extra charge?

No. Auto-delist is part of crosslisting. With Pay As You Sell you are charged once when a crosslisted item sells, whatever actions Treecat ran on it.
